Molecular Imaging North Competence Center

The recently funded Molecular Imaging North Competence Center MOIN CC has three major goals:

  1. The installation of an centralized imaging core unit consisting of several different imaging instruments in close vicinity, allowing small animal imaging in a multimodal fashion.
  2. The development of new hard- and software for molecular imaging, diagnostic imaging tools, therapies against cancer and inflammation-induced diseases. This research work will be performed by the academic partners of MOIN-CC in collaboration with industrial partners.
  3. The foundation of a business unit MOIN Services with the aim to commercialize the products that were developed the within the academic research projects. In particular MOIN Services will offer small animal imaging services in the field of functional cellular and molecular imaging.

The Molecular Imaging North Competence Center (MOIN CC) is financed by the "Programme for the Future - Economy"

For the period 2007 - 2013 the "Programme for the Future - Economy" comprises roughly EURO 704 m for economic and regional promotion in Schleswig-Holstein, thereof ca. EURO 374 m out of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), ca. EURO 208 m out of the Federal/State Joint Agreement “Improvement of Regional Economic Structures” (GRW) and complementary State Funds of ca. EURO 122 m.
