The Coagulation Center of the University Medical Center Schleswig-Holstein serving the Kiel and Lübeck Campuses is affiliated with the Institute for Clinical Chemistry.
Professor U. Nowak-Göttl, MD heads the cross-campus-operated Coagulation Center.
The members filling the coagulation team in Lübeck are Dr. D. Juhl (Transfusion Medicine), Dr. M. Shneyder along with Dr. D. Kowalski, Dr. P. Kuta and Dr. A. Rocke in Kiel.
The Center holds accreditation to provide a 12-month continuing education in hemostaseology, i.e. the complete training time for the additional qualification, offered on a cross-campus basis.
There are imaging technologies available for diagnosing vascular conditions to complement a comprehensive portfolio of laboratory methods.
At both locations, regular training sessions in coagulation self-management with the CoaguChek® systems are offered to the patients we attend to.
In both inpatient and outpatient settings, the Coagulation Center works in close cooperation with other departments at the Medical Center like Orthopedics, Gynecology, Dentistry, Maxillofacial Surgery and other specialized divisions to coordinate care for its patients.
