The appointment will be for 3 years. The Preferred starting date is April 1st, 2019.
The laboratory focuses on the role of the complement system in acute and chronic inflammatory diseases of the lung, the skin and the gastrointestinal tract. The position is embedded in the clinical research unit (CRU) 303 “Pemphigoid Diseases - Molecular Pathways and Their Therapeutic Potential”. Building on previous findings (Karsten et al Nat. Med. 2012, Karsten et al Front Immunol 2018), this project aims at delineating the role of the anaphylatoxin receptor C5aR2 in autoimmune diseases of the skin.
We are focusing in this project on the influence of the complement component C5a and its receptor C5aR2 on autoimmune diseases of the skin (e.g. bullous pemphigoid, epidermolysis bullosa acquisita). The position will be located in the Institute for Systemic Inflammation Research (ISEF, www.isef.uni-luebeck.de). The ISEF focuses on the role of the complement system in acute and chronic inflammatory diseases.
We are looking for a highly motivated and qualified candidate with strong interest and background in immunology, who has worked with mouse models before and (preferred not required) holds a FELASA certificate.
