The Institute of Clinical Chemistry introduces itself
The Institute of Clinical Chemistry operates the central laboratories in Kiel and Lübeck for comprehensive medical laboratory care at the highest level. Through its subsidiary “Dialog Diagnostiklabor GmbH”, laboratory diagnostic care is provided to almost 30 other hospitals throughout Germany. Physicians in private practice may also take advantage of the opportunity to have laboratory samples for their patients examined at our MVZ for Laboratory Medicine.

We perform more than 14 million analyses annually in our accredited (DIN EU ISO 15189) laboratories and ensure expert and timely analysis for our patients. All requests and reporting may be done digitally. Clinically and laboratory-medically experienced contact persons are available for all areas, who support you with their professional expertise in diagnostics. Physicians in private practice may also use the opportunity to have laboratory samples for their patients examined in our MVZ for Laboratory Medicine.
The institute is affiliated with the UKSH Center for Thrombosis and Haemostasis which is organized on a cross-campus basis with outpatient thrombosis and haemostasis clinics in Kiel and Lübeck. Highly specialized diagnostics and therapeutic support for patients with thrombosis and haemostasis system disorders are offered here. Inpatients receive the best possible care from a multidisciplinary team.
The area of and neuro-immunological diagnostics is organized cross-campus in cooperation with the clinics of neurology in Lübeck and Kiel. The focus of this area is the diagnosis as well as outpatient and inpatient care of patients with autoimmune diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system with special expertise in the treatment of patients with autoimmune encephalitis.
Scientifically, we deal with topics in the fields of blood coagulation, neuro-immunological diagnostics and laboratory medicine economics. In recent years, numerous peer-reviewed publications have resulted from these areas.
Medical students are offered lectures and seminars. There is the possibility to do a clinical internship and/or a tertial of the practical year. We also welcome applications for doctoral degrees from those with an interest in science.
