The CSF laboratory is one of the largest university CSF laboratories in Germany. With the help of state-of-the-art equipment, all basic CSF examinations (automated, digital CSF cytology, isoelectric focusing with silver staining and protein diagnostics with computer generated immunoturbidimetry) and many new examination procedures are performed. These include neurodegeneration markers (dementia markers), sarcoidosis markers, lymphoma diagnostics (flow cytometry/FACS), pathogen-specific intrathecal antibody syntheses, and autoantibodies.
