Molecular Genetics

In the field of molecular genetics, changes in DNA that may lead to hereditary diseases are investigated. Thanks to the advancing knowledge of the human genome and the development of efficient technologies, targeted examinations for disease-causing gene variants are possible. The spectrum of molecular genetic diagnostics includes geno-typing, Sanger sequencing as well as next generation sequencing and is carried out in collaboration with the Institute of Clinical Molecular Biology (IKMB).
