The aim of the course is to provide students with basic knowledge and skills to enable them to use laboratory diagnostics in a medically and economically sensible and responsible manner in their later work. Particular emphasis is placed on ensuring that correct indications can be assigned to the analyses presented and that therapeutic implications of measured values can be assessed.
Another focus is on conveying the importance of pre-analytics for valid laboratory tests.
