To offer an optimal patient care with combined expertise of different specialties we are part of the Comprehensive Center for Inflammation Medicine. The close cooperation between different specialists such as rheumatologists and gastroenterologists reduces the waiting times for patients. In regular interdisciplinary meetings we discuss the diseases of patients with these colleagues and coordinate treatment strategies.
In addition to psoriasis there are other diseases that can lead to inflammatory changes of the skin. Prof. Dr. Regine Gläser is chief of the department for autoimmune and autoinflammatory diseases at the Department of Dermatology in Kiel. Together our main focus in patient care lies in the understanding and treatment of inflammatory diseases of the skin in close cooperation with the Comprehensive Center for Inflammation Medicine. Through mutual exchange of experience and joint research projects, our patients benefit from the cooperation of these two core areas in the Department of Dermatology. In our center for clinical research/trials we can also offer clinical studies with new treatment options for the patients of the special autoimmune consultation.
