We are looking for professional and competent support to start as early as possible.

Job description:

The group of Prof. Alexander Scheffold has a particular interest in T cell mediated regulation of immune responses, in particular for the maintenance of tolerance and for interaction with environmental antigens at mucosal surfaces (e.g. Bacher et al Cell 2016 167(4):1067-1078, Bacher et al Cell 2019 176(6):1340-1355). We also study the molecular regulation of T cell fates and anti-inflammatory functions in mucosal tissues (e.g. Neumann et al Nat Immunol 2019 20(4):471-481, Neumann et al J Exp Med 2014 211(9):1807-19). Based on these studies we will address now the molecular regulation of T cell function for the specific control of host-microbiota interactions by microbiota-specific T cells.

The successful applicant (m/f/d) will work within the project "Proteolytic modulation of intestinal CD4 T helper cell function and immune homeostasis". The project is embedded into the DFG Collaborative Research Centre 877 "Proteolysis as a Regulatory Event in Pathophysiology" and will be carried out in close collaboration with other groups of the CRC and the Institute of Immunology.
