  • Other paroxysmal disorders (including headaches, tics, and restless legs syndrome)

  • All neurological developmental disorders including disorders of motor function, cognition, and behavior

  • Pediatric diagnostic procedures:

    • Various EEG analyses: non-invasive presurgical epilepsy monitoring for children and adolescents (only provider of this service in northern Germany)
  • Pediatric diagnostic procedures in cooperation with the Clinic of Neurology:

    • Auditory Evoked Potentials (AEP)
    • Visual Evoked Potentials (VEP)
    • Somatosensory Evoked Potentials (SSEP)
    • Nerve conduction Velocity (NCV) testing
    • Electromyography (EMG)
    • Neuroradiological expertise in pediatric neuroimaging in cooperation with the Clinic of Neuroradiologiy / Radiology
    • Neuroimmunological expertise in cooperation with the Clinic of Neurology
    • Clinical expertise in handling of patients with FI-RES (Febrile Infection-Related Epilepsy Syndrome)

  • Clinical and molecular genetics of epilepsies and EEG patterns (www.epilepsygenetics.net)

  • Therapeutic and diagnostic trials (neuro-physiological analyses with EEG, f MRI, and other procedures) in:

    • Epilepsy
    • Muscular diseases
    • Headaches
    • Behavioral disorders
    • Restless legs syndrome

Emphases in Education

  • Introductory lectures and seminars in general pediatrics and specialized pediatrics (Neuropediatrics)

  • Bedside teaching

  • Training and examination for national certificates of Electroencephalography and Epileptology
