There are a number of formal and organizational issues to be resolved before undertaking a treatment abroad. We are happy to support you during this process, step by step:
Your Application
When you send an application to UKSH International, we will ask you to send us a current medical report. The medical report should be as detailed as possible and describe all your medical concerns.
Our Proposal
After carefully evaluating your medical report, our medical team will prepare an individual and comprehensive proposal outlining the type of the treatment, the expected duration of the treatment as well as the costs of the treatment.
Appointments
Should you decide on a treatment at UKSH, please contact us at UKSH International. We will take care of all your administrative work for you and we will make sure you receive an appointment our suitable clinic/Professor of your choice.
Costs
The costs of your treatment as outlined in the cost estimate must be paid before your arrival.
Please be aware that the actual costs of the treatment may differ from the estimated costs. This could be due in part to the fact that the medical records submitted before treatment differ from the diagnosis and therapy proscribed by our medical team.
Within two months after treatment, you will receive a detailed invoice by post and an email copy. We request immediate payment of the invoice amount after subtracting the advance payment made before treatment. Of course, we will immediately refund any overpaid amount.
Visa
If you need a visa for entry into Germany, UKSH International will send you an invitation and confirm your appointment allowing you to apply for a visa at the German embassy or consulate in your home country.
Arrival
We will arrange your transportation to the Medical Center upon your arrival at the airport in Hamburg or Kiel. This service is also provided for ferry or train arrivals.
Interpreter
Interpreters are available at our Kiel and Lübeck locations in order to facilitate communication with doctors and nursing staff.
Accompanying Person
We will arrange for accommodations for the person accompanying you during your stay. Would you like to go on an excursion in order to explore Kiel, Lübeck or Hamburg? We will gladly help you organize your trip.
Billing
You or your health care provider will be provided with a detailed invoice cataloging the services rendered after the treatment.
