Post-Conference Workshops Extended the Learning – The Section Biomedical Imaging (SBMI) successfully hosted the first joint meeting of the Nordic and DACH chapters of the International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) in September 2025. Following two days of scientific presentations and discussions, rising stars and young scientists at SBMI offered eight experimental, hands-on, advanced MR workshops at the Molecular Imaging North Competence Center (MOIN CC) and the UKSH Campus Kiel, including in-depth training in metabolic imaging, flow measurements, and diffusion MRI, offering a chance to apply recent advances in real-world experimental settings. Workshops were given, for example, in the field of ALPS, SABRE, PHIP-SAH, CIDER DNP and Deuterium MR. A huge thank you to the SBMI members and workshop leaders Charbel Assaf, MD Josh Peters, Yenal Gökpek, Martin Sandbrink, Aaron Diercks, Ali Ajouz and Mayar Fahed!

Over 30 post-conference workshop participants from different countries underlined the community’s enthusiasm for hands-on learning and technical exchange. Further, the high number of attendees reflects SBMI’s growing international ties in medical imaging research and Kiel’s ambitous role as one of the leading cities in MRI development and innovation in Germany and northern Europe.
