Description

In 2012, the University of Luebeck, the Research Center Borstel and the University of Namibia (UNAM) in Windhoek/ Namibia agreed in the “Memorandum of Understanding” on their cooperation. The Academy of Respiratory Health BREATHE was established in 2018 by the Research Center Borstel and is funded by the DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst, German Academic Exchange Service).

BREATHE includes students and tutors exchanges, symposia, and the academy of respiratory medicine. As part of the latter, three-day courses are held once a year in Windhoek. These courses include keynote lectures, state of the art-lectures, case presentations, and skills trainings.

The Institute of Social Medicine and Epidemiology is involved in the course: Infectious Diseases and Evidence Based Medicine.
