Contents of Teaching
The module „Biostatistics“ introduces the field of applied biostatistics.
Topics of the lecture include:
descriptive and inferential statistics
comparison of central tendencies
measuresand tests of association and correlation
regression analysis (linear and logistic)
The contents of the exercise are:
an introduction into statistical programming and
the application of statistical methods from the lecture.
Qualification-goals/Competencies
The overall goal of the module is to give the students the skill:
to understand and interpret results from common statistical analyses,
to choose adequate statistical methods for a given research problem and
to conduct basic statistical analyses using pen-and-pencil and R.
