Who can register for participation?

Position & Profession

We welcome individuals with an interest in precision oncology at all career levels, from those with a bachelor's degree or equivalent to experienced professionals.

Since our working community is based on cross-disciplinary collaboration, we are open to professionals from diverse backgrounds, including physicians, life and natural scientists, bioinformaticians and related professions, independent of where you are located.

Please note that we are particularly interested to expand our program to medical colleagues from the UCCSH network who are in private practice or at other hospitals.

What`s the expected time commitment?

The program is designed to be completed on a part-time basis, with the majority of sessions held in the late afternoon/early evening. This allows for greater flexibility and convenience for participants.

In addition, events are generally spread throughout the semester to accommodate busy schedules. The weekly workload is on average about 2 hours per semester.

How is the content of the program composed?

Modular composition

The program is composed of five modules, with four modules offered in the first semester and a practical fifth module in the second semester.

  • Module 1, Basics, you will learn the basic concepts and terminology of precision oncology.

  • Module 2, Journal Club, offers discussions on current and relevant publications.

  • Module 3, Hands-on Workshops, provides interactive lectures, practical exercises, and Q&A sessions.

  • Module 4, you can visit a molecular tumor board to gain insights into procedures and case presentations.

  • Module 5, you can participate in molecular tumor board by researching 6 cases independently, supported by the research specialists.

Participation of the hands-on workshops is assigned with CME credit points by the Medical Association (Ärztekammer). Please provide your EFN-number to mtb.uccsh@uksh.de, so the points can be awarded.
