As the second largest University Hospital in Germany, UKSH is severely affected by the decrease in physicians who choose a clinical research career path. Translational research activity is a vital part of our mission, and thus UKSH supports the four clinician scientist programs run in Kiel and Lübeck. The programs provide rigorous and fostering training programs, committed mentorship, and the provision of attractive research fields to open up opportunities for high profile research for young clinicians during specialist training.
